I have extensive training over the past 15yrs, accredited with various professional bodies both in the UK and the United States. This has included working alongside various health professionals including Dr Patrick Carnes who specialises in the treatment of trauma which often manifests as addiction or compulsive behaviour. I specialise in areas which include the application of an Integrated model of Psychotherapy which involves Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) as well as Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Solution Focused Therapy.
I have spoken on radio in the United States about the dangers of internet addiction and given interviews for Arab Sky television on how stress affects mental health. I have also had various articles published by the BACP and The London Evening Standard.
I am also pleased to have participated for the past two years at the world renowned Arab Health Fair in Dubai with The Howard de Walden family, to help promote the Harley Street area as a Centre of Excellence . We are now considered one of only private companies in the area with the Howard de Walden family that can offer immediate luxury bespoke tailor made service for our patients that cover all aspects of mental health that affect their well being.
MY PHILOSOPHY AND APPROACH
My philosophy is to consider the individual to be an equal partner in finding a solution to their difficulties. Techniques are used to increase awareness so that with time a better understanding is created to manage life imbalance. Psychotherapy involves regular sessions in a confidential setting using a combination of techniques to suit the individual needs. It is of the utmost importance that the therapeutic setting provides a safe place so that trust and confidentiality can be maintained. Treatment can sometimes involve exploring past patterns of relationships to enable a better understanding of the present issues. As a result, it can often free the person to make choices about what happens in the future. The therapy can also involve quite brief therapy for specific difficulties which enable clients to understand dysfunctional patterns of thinking.
